Guidelines for Sending Requests Down the Prayer Chain

The purpose of the Grace Church prayer chain is to make members of our body aware of needs so that we can be supporting each other in prayer and bringing our requests before our gracious God. Please follow these guidelines:

  • Only put things on the prayer chain for which you have some kind of connection to the person we are being asked to pray for. For example, a "friend of a friend" request should normally not be sent to the prayer chain. Otherwise, we would been inundated with more requests than we could ever handle.
  • To respect people's privacy, please be certain that you have the permission of the person in need of prayer. We will not put requests on the prayer chain for which no permission has been granted.
  • When there is a resolution to the prayer request, send the praise down the prayer chain so we all can share in the joy of God's provision.

To submit a prayer request, email it to graceprayerchain or call the church office (382-2288).

Guidelines for Being a Prayer Warrior on the Prayer Chain List

  • We invite and encourage participation from the Grace Church family in our e-mail prayer chain ministry.
  • Only those who ask for themselves to be added to the list will be included. We will not add names at the request of others.
  • Only active Grace Church attenders will be included in the list. We feel that active attendance is a basic qualification for having potentially sensitive personal information about members of our church family.
  • If you are interested in the life and ministry of Grace Church, we recommend that you receive our church newsletter (The Cross Examiner), or speak with individuals who are involved in the church. We do not intend for the prayer chain to be a news communication instrument.

To get on the prayer chain email list so that you will receive the prayer requests and can be praying for our church body, send a note to the church office. If you don't have email, Alyce Littlefield calls a few people to let them know about prayer requests. Contact Alyce if you would like to be called. If you would like to be removed from the prayer chain list, contact the church office.

Prayer Ministry

There is also a prayer ministry dedicated to praying for the leaders of the various church ministries and specific needs of those ministries. The major goal of this ministry is to have at least 7 people who each have a different day of the week to pray on for the ministries and key leaders of our ministries.  If you have one hour on one day during the week to dedicate to praying through the ministries of our church, you can be part of this. Contact Scott Taylor to get on his e-mail distribution list.  More people praying will help to unleash more of God's power.
